Saturday Morning at Meadow Lane, Birstall

Under 9 Vixens 4-0 Rugby town (27 mar 10)
The girls made hard work of this first half, but some proper end to end football Una Miralles worked hard in defence & Kodie Lazar played some lovely football up the right wing. But to no avail 0-0 at half time.
Second half & Tahli Spence & Chloe Doore put some lovely one twos together only for Chloe to shoot wide, Jasmine Kirk made some fantastic moves down the right wing with Jasmine, Chloe & Tahli working well together Tahli soon had 2 goals.
Then after an attack by Rugby Georgia Gibson in goal punted a long ball up field for Tahli to score her hat-trick. Rugby had another chance but some great goal keeping from Georgia kept them at bay, then from a Rugby corner Tahli stole the ball & went on a great solo run to score number 4.

Under 9 Vixens 1-2 Oadby & Wigston (27 mar 10)
Our first defeat of the season but the girls still worked hard & after some good football Tahli Spence was unlucky not to score. The last two games against this team only finished in a draw, some good play by both teams but Oadby were the lucky ones scoring two goals in the first half 2-0 down at half time that`s a first.
Oadby were on the attack from the whistle but Una Miralles was spectacular in defence taking on two players at one time & stopping them both. She has come a long way, Georgia was fantastic in goal we never conceded in the second half & even managed to pull one back from Tahli Spence but it wasn't enough unlucky girls.

Under 9 Vixens 8-0 GNG (27 Feb 10)
With Hannah Freeman playing in goal & Georgia Gibson having her first run out this season,
the girls got off to a storming start.Breaking down every gng attack & counter attacking with the precision of a premier league team,it was only a couple of minutes before Tahli Spence had opened the scoring then Tahli again with the second & third.Then Georgia Gibson scored then Chloe Doore & Tahli Spence thought she would have her fourth just for fun,6-0 at half time.
The second half a gng didn`t get a look in the girls play fantastic keep ball then Nyree Spence saw an opening & popped in another one.Then after another good break away Nyree had her second & the teams eighth brilliant team work girls well done.

Under 9 Vixens 1-1 Oadby & Wigston (27 Feb 10)
Here we go again the same opponents as before,& no matter what the girls tried they still ended up a goal down at half time.although the had,had quite a few chances.All change at half time & a bit more tempo & at last a well earned goal,after a quick break from the back Hannah Freeman managed to equalize. 1-1 but they disserved more.

Under 9 Vixens 4-2 Oadby & Wigston (6 Feb 10)
It's so long since the last game that it seemed more like a new season, instead of the second half but the girls didn't wavier.
Straight from the start they were on the attack. Tahli Spence played a well weighted ball to Chloe Doore to open the scoring.
After the restart Oadby fired back to level the score, then after a bit of toing & froing Tahli scored the second 2-1 at half time.
The second half with the introduction of Kodie Lazar she scored her first goal for the team, After Oadby had got one back
Kodie scored again 4-2 at full time.

Under 9 Vixens 4-2 Rugby town (06 Feb 10)

Another rematch as only three teams turned up for this week, but the girls although a bit scrappy came out on top Tahli Spence with a hat-trick & Chloe Doore with her second of the day,& two goals for Rugby. Sorry it's not a bit more informative but I left it so long I
can't really remember what happened.

Under 9 Vixens 2-2 Oadby & Wigston (28 Nov 09)
A very poor performance from the Vixens this time, after the way they have been playing. Even with the welcome return of Hannah after a long injury they just didn't turn up for this game Oadby & Wigston came out fighting,& had quiet a few shots on target before Georgia punted a long ball up to Hannah, who was unmarked to score her first goal of the season. The Vixens still didn't play very well ball chasing & ball watching, Tahli some how managed to get the ball & threaded it through to Hannah to score her second.2-0 at half time more by luck me thinks.

The second half was no better & Oadby`s first goal came after a rebound off the post,which the Vixen`s stood & watched while the Oadby player  lined it up.After a bit more watching & waiting for Oadby to equalise Georgia`s goal kick went terribly wrong,all of the players stood &
wached the Oadby forward dribble around a stranded Georgia to score the "equaliser"

Under 9 Vixens 6-1 Rugby town (28 Nov 09)
The girls seemed to wake up in the second game but not until they had let Rugby get the opener, then the flood gates opened. Hannah got one back then after using the space & passing like they can do Hannah had her second. After a bit of knocking it about in the area Nyree toe poked one past the keeper,3-1 at half time. The second half & the Vixens were back to their normal selves, Tahli again got hold of the ball & played a cross to Hannah for her hat-trick. After the restart the Vixens got hold of the ball this time Hannah turned provider & played in Chloe who set off on what is becoming her trademark run, to slot it past the keeper. After the restart the Vixens got possession in their own half & after some lovely passing scored what can only be termed a team goal.

Birstall Utd 3 -1 GNG (30 Oct 2009)

New opponents this time in the shape of gng, the Vixens kicked off the third game of  the campaign & were soon in front after a corner from Esmae. Tahli poked one home,  Shortly after kick off & with gng bunching a little to much the vixens held their shape beautifully Esmae knocked one out to Chloe, who after being hounded by the  pack played a lovely ball to Tahli who was wide open to finish for number 2. 2-0 at half time.In the second half gng seemed to wake up & after a fantastic little move  hammered one towards the goal, which Georgia could only parry & a gng player reacted to first & squeezed between keeper & post. Well into the second half & another corner this time from chloe ricochetted off a defender off the post & in off Nyree`s leg for number three. I don`t think she knew much about it, as the cheers went  up she looked a little bemused. final score Birstall utd 3 gng 1

Birstall Utd 2 -0 Rugby town (30 Oct 2009)

This was a clash of the titans, we were joint top same points & same goal difference as Rugby town, we came quickly out of the blocks but Rugby defended well. Another  end to end performance but Rugby couldn't break the dead lock thanks to Georgia in  goal, who had another outstanding performance Tahli broke the deadlock just before half time 1-0 at half time.The second half was much the same as the first,the highlight so far was Esmae`s solo run but Rugby's keeper was equal to it.But after  defending another Rugby attack,Una who was wonderful in defence got the ball to  Chloe who set of down the left wing with Tahli in the centre for support but she didn`t  need her Another great strike that the keeper couldn't stop made it 2-0. final score Birstall utd 2 Rugby town 0 player of the day Tahli Spence top of the table well done girls.

Birstall utd 6-1 Oadby & Wigston (26 September 2009)

For the second game the Vixens had the same opponents, but Oadby had changed  a few players & put the Vixens on the back foot & scored early on. The Vixens kicked off with a vengeance & Tahli scored a great goal 1-1.The football was end to end stuff & if it wasn't for Georgia the Vixens keeper who was outstanding throughout the  result would have been different. After a bit of ping pong in the Vixens area Georgia managed to get the ball clear for Tahli to score hers & the Vixens second 2-1 at half  time. The Vixens kicked off the second half & some brilliant passing saw Nyree score. Oadby kicked off only for Esmae to charge through & steal the ball & score. After a  bit more end to end stuff & some great defending form Jasmine & some brilliant keeping from Georgia, Tahli had her hat-trick. Oadby kicked off & Esmae stole the ball  again gave it to Chloe for a superb left foot strike that Oadbys keeper had no hope  of stopping.  final score Birstall Utd 6-Oadby & Wigston 1 player of the day Jasmine Kirk

Birstall utd 4-1 Oadby & Wigston (26 September 2009)

The new five-a-side season got off to a flying start for the under 9 Vixens,in their first game against Oadby & Wigston Snipers, they came out firing on all cylinders. After just a couple of minutes Esmae opened the scoring with a superb finish, they worked well as a team for Esmae to double the score 2-0 up at half time. The second half started much the same as the first,& it wasn't long before Nyree  had opened her account. After a bit of sloppy defending Oadby had got one back The Vixen's kicked off & Esmae soon had her hat-trick just before the final whistle. final score Birstall utd 4 Oadby & Wigston 1
