Under 10 Girls Runners Up in Tournament

On Saturday 21st August 2010, the Under 10 Girls team came runners up in the Oadby & Wigston tournament. They were just one point behind the eventual winners, Oadby & Wigston.

Birstall utd Vixens 1-0 Loughbrough foxes(09/10/11)
Loughboro were right out of the blocks & attacking but a fine save from Chloe Maitland kept the scores even, but loughboro kept coming but Una Mirralle , Jasmine Kirk & Tia Warren defened superbly around the goal aera. After a while Birstall got into gear & they won a corner which Tahli Spence played right into the keepers hands, then kodie Lazar fired one over the bar the Vixens really stepped up the pace with Tahli Spence following kodie`s lead & putting one over. Then after another loughboro attack which keeper Chloe dealt with fine & punted the ball up field Georgina Hodgson played in Kodie who didn`t miss this time. Then Loughboro went on the attack again & Jasmine took the ball to her face which stopped play for a short time just before half time 1-0

Loughboro started as they had the first half attacking strongly but Tia made some great recovery runs to cut out any attempt on goal time & time again, after another Birstall attack Goeorgina had a left footed strike which went just wide. After some more great keeping by replacement Tahli keeping a clean sheet the ball ended up in Loughboro`s area where Kodie stole it out of the keepers hands to score but was disallowed because the keeper had both hands on it the whistle blew for full time.

Leicester city ladies 2-5 Birstall utd Vixens (02/10/11)
A poor start by the vixens on a very hot October day going 2-0 down after about 5 mins. But this seemed to spur the girls on & after breaking down another Leicester attack Tia Warren played the ball forward to Emily Priestley who having no shot available passed the ball on to Kodie Lazar to score the Vixens opener. Almost straight from the ko the ball was won back by goal scorer Kodie who laid in Tahli Spence to level the score, then after an attack by Leicester was dealt with superbly by the defence Tia had a run & played a perfect ball to Emily to score the vixens third 3-2 at half time. The second half started with Chloe Maitland going in as keeper Leicester started strong & had a couple of chances but could not capitalise. Birstall pushed forward & Tia again played a perfect ball thus time to Kodie for her second with about 10 mins left to play the Vixens fitness shone through & with Leicester virtually at a stand still Beth Moloney had a run down the left wing & went for goal but the city keeper managed to parry it into the path of the oncoming Tia to open her account with Birstall`s 5th goal full time.

The whole team pulling back from the jaws of defeat on such a hot day what a rally girls so proud of you all.

Thurmaston pink panthers 1-9 Birstall u10 Vixens(11/09/11)
Another great performance by the vixens after about 3 mins Kodie Lazar played a fantastic ball forward for Tahli Spence to score. The girls seemed really up for it & it wasn`t long before they were rewarded with a second goal when Georgina Hodgson played in Kodie for Birstalls second. After a couple of substitutions Tia Warren linked up with Emily Priestley for Emily to score the third, it wasn`t long after when Emily scored her second. After the panthers had put together an attack which the defence dealt with brilliantly Chloe Maitland made a great run down the left wing to score & then after another good run Chloe selflessly played in Emily for her hat-trick 6-0 at half time.

The second half & Birstall were straight at it & won a corner the ball came in & as the panthers defence tried to clear it one of there own players scored in her own net after which The panthers put together an attack which Beth Moloney in goal could only parry for one of the panther players to slot home this seemed to rile up the vixens & after some more good passing tia got the ball & played in Kodie for her second. & the girls went on a rampage of trying to do it all by themselves they regrouped & started to play like a team again they were rewarded when Kodie played in Tahli for her second & the vixens ninth.

Birstall u10 Vixens 8-1 Cosby cubs(04/09/11)
A great start to the season For the u11 vixens with new singing Tia Warren working out well from the back, & playing a perfect ball to Geogina Hodgson to play in second new signing Emily Priestley To open her account with the vixens first goal of the day. From the restart cosby put an attack together but it was broken down by birstalls defence for the girls to push forward again for Tahli Spence to score, then after another broken down attack Tahli scored again 3-0 at half time

Second half carried on much the same as the first half with broken down attacks & some fantastic passing football by the vixens. Who took advantage of a new cosby team bunching up by playing around them which lead to 2 goals from Chloe Maitland 2 from Kodie Lazar & 1 from Georgina Hodgson cosby`s consolation goal came after Bristall failed to clear a corner & a Cosby player maneged to squeeze between keeper & post.

SPECIAL MENTIONS

Emily Priestley & Tia Warren played like they had always been part of the team welcome aboard girls.
