What
The BUJFC Soccer School is for kids aged from 4 up to 6 (end of year 1).  Both boys and girls are welcome.  The aim of the Soccer School is to teach kids the basics of football with a big emphasis on fun.  They will learn about co-ordination, balance, teamwork, how to control a football, the basic rules of the game and the layout of the pitch.

Where
At the BUJFC training ground on Meadow Lane, Birstall. Click here for a map.  Refreshments are available to purchase from the club house including tea and coffee.

When
The Soccer School trains on a Saturday morning from 10:30-12:00.

How
A Soccer School training session is split up into three main sections:

1)     A “warm up”  to get the kids moving and warm up their muscles.

2)     Games/drills.  10-15 minute games which teach the kids one of the key elements of ball control (e.g. passing, shooting, dribbling, moving)

3)     Mini matches.  We finish the session with some short matches to give the kids an opportunity to put into practice the things they have leaned during the session.

Cost
The first training session your child attends is free.  This is seen as a taster session to see if they like it.  Any future sessions are £1.50 per session.  Fees must be paid on the morning of training before 10:30.  There is also a yearly club membership fee of £5.00 per family.

Cancellations
Due to the age of the kids in the Soccer School, it is sometimes necessary to cancel training session at the last minute for safety reasons (especially during the winter or extreme weather conditions).  This might be because it is too cold, too windy, too wet, or because the pitch is frozen or waterlogged.  Decisions like these are not taken lightly and are taken in the interests of the kids so please bear this in mind if you turn up for training only to find its been cancelled.

Parent participation
We would actively encourage parents to stay and enjoy their child’s progress during the sessions – you wouldn’t want to miss that all-important goal!

For those parents who wish to participate further there is always the need for help in many capacities throughout the club, so please ask.

Codes of conduct
The club operates codes of conduct for all the players, coaches and parents/spectators. For the benefit of all please abide by these at all times.  Paper copies are available in the clubhouse.
